crisis struggled to
convince investors to leave the sidelines and return to the precious metals market.
黄金期货价格周四收于前收盘水平,因为虽然有迹象显示欧洲债务危机的解决取得了进展,但这还难以让投资者确信目前已是重返贵金属市场的合适时机。

Market participants have long worried that Europe is moving too slowly to
contain its debt
crisis as all 17 members of the
currency union must
approve the
measure for the plan to go ahead.

Gold prices wobbled around yesterday's close for much of the day as some investors found it hard to
commit to a
consistent line of action amid such concerns.

'We continue to watch Europe and all of their efforts, and try to figure out whether they're saved or not,' said Frank Lesh,
broker and futures analyst with FuturePath Trading. 'We've had a big sell-off and people are wondering if it's time to get back in or not, so you've got this indecision.'

Gold
bullion demand from India and China, two of the world's largest consumers of the precious metal, also appeared to
strengthen in
overnight purchases. Consumers in India are on the cusp of
wedding season, a
traditional time of gold gift giving, while Chinese buyers are preparing for the National Day Golden Week
holiday, which begins next week.

'Although buying interest out of India has been particularly strong, support is broad-based throughout Asia, with
physical demand in places like Thailand and China also rising,' Walter de Wet, head of
commoditystrategy at Standard Bank, said in a note to clients.
