JAKARTA, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- Senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Zhou Yongkang arrived in Jakarta on Sunday afternoon, starting his friendly visit to Indonesia.
Zhou was making the visit as guest of Indonesian House of Representatives.
In a written address upon his arrival, Zhou, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said the stronger strategic partnership between China and Indonesia was in the fundamental interests of the two nations and would help ensure regional stability and development.
"As big developing nations, China and Indonesia are faced with the task of safeguarding state security, developing national economy and improving peoples' livelihood," he said.
Zhou said he was looking forward to exchanging views with Indonesian leaders on bilateral ties and international issues of common concern.
He hoped the visit would enhance bilateral understanding and friendship, promote common development, and boost regional prosperity and stability.
During his stay, Zhou will meet with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Speaker of Indonesian House of Representatives Agung Laksono.
