O Captain！My Captain！

　　惠特曼（1819-1892），生于纽约长岛，曾任教员、排字工人、记者等职。1855年出版诗集《草叶集》（Leaves of Grass），最初未获好评。诗人自1856至1891年间不断将《草叶集》修改增订。

　　 O Captain!My Captain!Our fearful trip is done, The ship has weather'd every rack, the prize we sought is won, The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting, While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring; But O heart!heart!heart! O the bleeding drops of red! Where on the deck my Captain lies, Fallen cold and dead. O Captain! my Captain!rise up and hear the bells; Rise up -for you the flag is flung -for you the bugle trills, For you bouquets and ribbon'd wreaths-for you the shores crowding, For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turing; Here, Captain!dear father! This arm beneath your head; It is some dream that on the deck You 've fallen cold and dead. My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still, My father does not feel my arm , he has no pulse nor will; The ship is anchor'd safe and sound, its voyage closed and done; From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won; Exult, O shores!and ring, O bells! 　　 莫非是一场梦：在甲板上您倒下去，冰冷，永别。

　　 我的船长不作声，嘴唇惨白，毫不动弹；我的父亲没感到我的手臂，没有脉搏，没有遗言；船舶抛锚停下，平安抵达；船程终了；历经难险返航，夺得胜利目标。
