It's been a long time since my last poem post. The poem below was finished this afternoon. I feel compelled to make some quality post to bring this forum up to scratch after reading so much crap from***. Tell me if you like this poem:)



When I close my eyes

On the lap of the lonesome night
drops my missing from hollow eyes
trickling down the twinkling stars
into the fold of darkness's arm.
The fragile floodgate is overrun,
never obscured is my heart's sun.
Holding on to an illusion of love
I struggle in this world of lust.
The unabating fire storm of pain
burns through time's chilly rain.
When I am sinking in memory's sea
where the beautiful pearls sit deep,
their hard shells I can not break
telling me from the past to wake.
But when I close my sightless eyes
you return with that blinding light.
