Time is precious, as it says, time is money.
Time is familiar to all of us. No matter what things we have to do, we need it. We sometimes treat it as if it were something almost real, we budget it, waste it, save it, steal it, kill it, cut it, account for it; we also charge for it. It's important to all of us. Without it, we will lose everything. However, not all of us know how to make the best use of time.
We can find people committed to working and studying all the day around us. They seldom go out to play or go shopping and they usually do everything quickly. They spend almost all of their time on their work and study. They have an acute sense of the shortness of their time. It seems as if they were the slaves to the clock. We sometimes say they are foolish and laugh at them. We also treat them as monsters, and look down upon them. We always think that we have a lot of time to do our work, there is no need to work and study like them. However, do we think about our time really? How much time do we have in all? The answer will surprise all of us, for it's very short.
For example, a man can live 70 years, in the 70 years, we need about half of the time to sleep, one fifth of the time to play, and spend some time to bring up our children, and after we retire from our work, we don't have much energy to do some important things. If so, we only have several years to do our work and study really in all. The time is short, and also is limited, if we don't treasure it highly, we will not finish our work and let our dream come true. We will be a failure, because of the elapse of time.
So, don't laugh at the people who are busy working and studying any more, they are good persons treasuring time highly. We should also build the sense of shortness of time. We mustn't waste any minute or second any more. We also can't put off the work of today to tomorrow. We want every second to count.
Consequently, if we want to succeed, we must make the best use of time, catch up with the pace of time, or else, we will face a life of failure. After all, time and tide wait for no man.
