consolidate Present continous questions and short answers.
8.To learn new words by using word map and pictures.
9.To write a letter about the Spring Festival.

Tape recorder, video, Taching pictures and cards, OHP and so on.

Vocabulary and listening
1.Match the words with listening.
*Ask the Ss to look and match individually, then check with a partner.
*Call back the answers from the whole class.

Preparation
*Introduce Present continous short answers as follow:
*Elicit/Remind the Ss of Present Simple short answers.(e.g. Do you like in Beijing? Yes, I do. Is she a student? Yes, she is.)
*Elicit/Give a Present continous questions(e.g. Are you studying English?) and elicit/give the short answers(Yes, I am./No, I’m not.).
*Practise this with other examples and different people(he, they, we…)
2.Listen and read.
*Ask the Ss to read the conversation silently. At this stage, it’s a good idea not to explain every word they don’t understand.
*Play the recording and ask the Ss to listen and read the coversation.
3.Choose the best answers to the questions.
*Ask the Ss to do this individually, then check with a partner.
*Call back the answers from the whole class, having one student read the question and another give the answer.
4.Answer the questions.
*Ask the Ss to do this individually, then check with a partner.

5.Listen and repeat.
*Explain that this activity focuses on some English phonemes which are difficult to pronounce for speakers of Chinese.
*Play the recording once without stopping.
*Play the recording again and stop at the end of each line. Ask the whole class to repeat.
