Step 1.Revision
Revise the last unit by asking questions.
Step 2.Presentation
1. Hold up a clock and say: What’s the time? (What time is it?)
Help the class to answer: It’s seven thirty.
2. Present 6:50,7:00,7:15 in the same way。
3. As well,explain that in 6:50,the 6 refers to the hour and 50 refers to the minutes after the hour.
4. Give more examples: 12:30,6:15,4:40,4:45,2:50,2:00,etc
Step 3 Practice
1. Point to any time and ask the students to say them our one by one。
2. Get several students to hold up their clocks and ask and answer。
A:What time is it? B:It’s twelve thirty.etc
Step 4.Presentation
1. Teach some important phrases by doing the actions.
Point to the clock and say: Oh,it’s six fifty.I must get up.
Let the Ss try to understand the Meaning of get up。
2. Teach the following phrases in the same way.
Oh,it’s seven.I must have breakfast.
Oh,it’s seven fifteen.I must go to school.
Oh,it’s seven thirty.I must hurry up. I’m late.
Step 5 Game
Ask one student to do some actions and let the other students describle what he does.
Step 6 Talk
Let the students cover the words in the picture and discuss the actions at different time in the picture.
Step7Dialogue
Listen to the tape and answer: Is Lily late for school? Then read after the tape
