Friendship is more precious than gold. The book Cricket on the Times Square has clearly explained it. This book tells us the true friendship between a cricket, a cat, a mouse and their master.
Chester came to New York because of his love for food. Luckily he met his master Mario and his friends Tuck, a mouse, and Henry, a cat. On one party, Chester has accidentally chewed someone's bill. Then Tuck stepped forward and contributed his own possession. Henry and Tuck came to Chester every day and shared with him the hard-earned food. As a music enthusiast, Chester often performed his own melodies in front of Tuck and Mario. His talent was discovered by Mario's mum. She then reported this to a local newspaper. Chester soon became famous in New York. People all came to Chester's performance before Mario's news stand. Chester thought he could help Mario to earn more money in this way. So he kept singing there. Mario's business was getting better and better every day and at last his family got rid of poverty. But because of the toil of singing every day, Chester was suffering a physical breakdown. He began to miss his hometown. Finally he decided to go back and left all his friends.
