Melbourne, Australia, has been rated the best city in the world to live in, edging ahead of Vancouver, Canada, according to the latest global livability survey from the Economist Intelligence Unit.

Melbourne, Australia's second-largest city, topped the biannual ranking of 140 cities with a score of 97.5%, ahead of Vienna at 97.4%, the survey showed. Vancouver slipped from the top spot to third with a score of 97.3%.
