During the past three days' vacation, I did not go home. On the Dragon Boat's day, I went on a trip to Qingyuan(清远), a remote but scenic city with several friends of mine. Distant and bumpy as the trip was, we did have a blast all the way. I will never forget we boarded a ship and enjoyed our toothsome lunch there, appreciating the marvelous landscape along the snaking but wide river. I could still remember the feel of wind kissing my face gently. Nor will I forget we went white-water rafting in the afternoon. That was literally a thrilling and risky journey!
Actually before we began rafting, we had been waiting for ages due to the crowed visitors. You know it was a traditionalfestival that day and numerous people all over the country flocked to every touristattraction. Therefore, the rafting venue was packed with visitors of all ages, even some children of 3 or 4 years old.
Eventually after about 45 minutes, our bad luck came to an end. We managed to get on the shuttle bus to the rafting destination and started our impressive journey. It was raining at that time and the water was somewhat icy. But in order to check out the thrilling feelings, we plunged into the water and sprang to our boat stoutly. Then we began the exciting rafting. The water was rushing so rapidly that at every turning point I screamed at the top of my lungs. And there were several times when my boat was almost turned over by the fierce riptides. Luckily, I had got the hang of how to balance my boat in the past, so I went through all the adventures ultimately. The water was so chilly that I trembled constantly with my lips turning purple. But at that time I could hardly think of my coldness, for I had to be alert all the time for fear that the smashing waves would tear me away. Finally our rafting came to an end, and we all felt we were invincible warriors.
Here I want to express my gratefulness to my teammates who shared all the joys with me during the journey. We talked and laughed gleefully all the way. Without their company, my journey would not have been so enjoyable.
