Teaching Aims:
1.Enable the students to

reading ability, such as skimming, scanning abilities, and
enlarge their views of agriculture.
2.Let the students have a general knowledge about agriculture, its history and recent technological development.
3.Help the students to have the
ability to grasp the general idea of a passage as fast as possible.

2.Knowing about the development of Chinese agriculture.

structure of the
reading material.
2.Get the methods and problems in Chinese agriculture.

2.A projector and some slides
Teaching methods:
1.Task-based
reading to find the information quickly;
2.Skimming method to finish the T or F questions.
3.Pair work and group work to improve students’
writing ability.

Warming up
1.Show the students the words games, and lead them to guess them well.
2.Tell the students the information about agriculture.
The students read the games and try to get answers.
Following the teacher and
knowing some information about agriculture.
Step2
Pre-reading
Let the students look at some pictures about
traditional farming, modern farming and High-tech farming. Encourage the students to share their ideas as much as possible.
The students look at the pictures and say something about them.
Step 3
While-Reading
1.Show some easy questions to the students.
The students read the text for the first time and get the answers to the questions.
2.Tell the students the four parts and give them the main idea of each part.
The students read it again and analyze the
structure of the reading.
3.Show the students the T or F questions.
Get the detail information from the
reading and finish the exercises.
4.Give the students some guides and examples to fill in the form.
Work in groups to fill in the form, then share their ideas with the whole class.
Step 4
Post-reading
1. Give an example how they would change some fruit,
vegetable or animal and why.
Give their
imagination about this task and tell the answers to others.
2. Give the students some clues and let them give a
summary about the reading.
The students write the passage and tell the whole class if time is possible.

Homework
1.Writing a passage about the city.
2.Underline all the phrases and deal with the language points..
Remember the homework and finish the exercises after class.
