Teaching Procedures
Step1: Greetings
Greet the students as usual: Hello, everyone!
Step2: Leading-in
Show some pictures of our hometown---Haicheng.
Lead in the class by asking students questions about the pictures
The questions are about the locations of these places.
Step3:Warming up
I. Ask students to look at the world map, and then ask how much
they know about China.
The questions about full country name, area, population, capital city, people, language, government and the head of State
II. Look at the map of China, and the names of countries, islands and seas beyond China.
1.Neighbor countries:
1) Russia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Sikkim, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, and North Korea.
Read these countries fluently.
Mark them on the map.
2) Game: Divide the whole class into two groups---half and half. Ask two students to come to the blackboard to mark the scores. The teacher speaks the names of these countries and students tell the directions of their locations.
3) Make a conclusion:
North: Mongolia Russia Kazakhstan
South: India Vietnam Myanmar Laos Nepal Bhutan Sikkim
West: Afghanistan Tajikistan Pakistan Kyrgyzstan
East: North Korea
