The 2008 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition is open between April 20 and 28, 2008.

The steady rainfall on Sunday could hardly dampen people's enthusiasm at the biennial Beijing auto show.

A special media preview of the vehicles on show at the 2008 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition opened today, attracting more than 2,000 automakers from 18 courtiers. Among the 890 vehicles, there are seven world premieres, 24 Asia debuts and 55 concept cars.

The auto event is considered one of the international A-class auto shows. Its theme this year is "Dream, Harmony and New Vision."

The biennial auto show is being held at the enlarged China International Exhibition Center, which reopened late last month at a new site in Beijing's northeasternoutskirts. It lasts until April 28, with the first two days set aside for the media.
