出生自非洲西部的陌生国度塞内加尔，七岁时随父亲举家搬到自由美国的纽泽西，从第三世界进入广漠的水泥丛林，阿肯始终郁郁寡欢，好在他手长脚长运动神经发达的本钱让他拿到篮球奖学金，顺利进入大学，无奈就当他意气风发、立志成为职业球员时，不幸摔坏了膝盖，球星梦碎，让他无心课业、失望辍学。

天生反骨的阿肯开始想尽办法养活自己，不愿意为任何人工作、只想做自己老板的他，开始在街头讨生活，电影"惊天动地60秒"就是他的写照，窃车手法俐落人面又广，连知名影星、运动明星都是他的下游客户。善恶到头终有报，阿肯还是被逮入狱，三年难熬的寂寞苦牢让他彻底洗心革面，决心走上正途。

好在祖上积德：出身音乐世家，父亲Mor Thiam正是非洲传统鼓Djembe传奇爵士乐手，阿肯自小就随兴地和家人玩起各种乐器，而嘻哈音乐则是他找到认同的根源。
