1.To learn something about theme parks, such as its features, the differences between a theme park and a
traditionalamusement park, and some
typical theme parks in the world.
2.To develop students'
ability to read a text.
3.To develop students'
ability to read, learn and think by talking about theme parks designed by themselves.

step 1: Pre-reading
Lead-in
Many a person has done a lot to make our life ease. For example, we can have a lot fun in some parks in the holidays after we had a long hard work. Now ,there is a famous place near our city. I will give you three pictures which are
related to it. Have you ever been there? Do you know where it is?

There are many kinds of parks in the world. Would you please enjoy some pictures and
distinguish what kind of theme parks they are?
(show the pictures to the Ss)

T: Is the park a theme one?(Yes)
T: What is a theme park?
(As we all know, a theme park is a wonderful park. It has its own theme. It has a
collection of rides, exhibitions and other attractions that are based on a common theme. )
T: Does our city have another
amusement park? What is it? Is it a theme park?
( Yes, People's park.

Step2. Reading
Students learn about theme parks.
Task 1.Fast reading
Today we are going to read a passage. It is about some theme Parks in the world. It will show you what you can do in each theme park.
