Step 1 Greeting
Step 2 Lead-in
Show the Ss pictures of different types of cellphones. Then ask some questions to
stimulate their interest in the topic of this lesson.
Step 3 A competition
Have a
competition between boys and girls to check their
pronunciation of new words and expressions.
Step 4 Fast reading
Ask the Ss to read the text fast and teach them how to find out the main idea of each paragraph.
Step 5 Careful reading
Read the text carefully and fill in the from with detailed information.
Step 6 Discussion
Ask the Ss to work in groups of 4 to find out and discuss difficult sentences in the text. And then help them deal with the problems.
Step 7 An interview
Ask the Ss to make an
interview in pairs to find out his or her classmate’s opinion about using cellphones in school as a student. And offer some useful expressions to help them.
Step 8 Summary
Make it clear that cellphones have advantages and disadvantages. Let the Ss’ think about when or where we shouldn’t use cellphones.
Step 9 Homework
Design an own cellphone and give necessary description.
