The First Part: Warming up
T: Hello, everyone. I am very glad to meet you here! To be honest, I am a new teacher. I just graduated from university. OK, first, I will introduce myself in order to make myself understood. “ I am a kind and warm-hearted person. I think that I am beautiful. I am wise and smart. But I am a little slender. And I have a lot of good friends. In my opinion, Nobody can go without friends. And all of you have good friends. Now you come to a new circumstance, some of you may not fit for the new situation, maybe you miss some of your old friends in your junior school. So I hope we can learn from each other ! And we will get to know each other well and we can make good friends in the future. Now , I’d like you to talk about your good friends trying to use as many as adjectives . (kind, honest, brave, loyal, happy, wise, strong, beautiful, handsome, rich, smart, funny, and so on). Good, I think that all of you have good friends. But I want to ask you a question what should a good friend be like ? (A. Eating together B. Playing together C. Sharing happiness and sorrow D. Helping you when you are in trouble)
Now, I want to tell a story to you about friends. Maybe some of you have heard of this story. But I hope you can find what should a good friend be like from the story. OK, let’s begin, please pay much attention to me. “Two friends were traveling in the forests. Suddenly, a bear appeared and ran to them. One of them saw the bear firstly, so he climbed up the tress as quickly as possible. The other one was afraid of the bear , so he was shivered , so he could not have enough time to run. An idea appeared in his mind suddenly. Because he had heard that the bear disliked to eat a dead person. So he pretended to die. And the bear smelt and smelt then walked away finally.”
When the bear was away, the man who climbed up the tree came down and asked what the bear said . He told “A friend in need is a friend indeed.” (患难识真友); Of course there are some other proverbs about friendship. A true friend is one soul in two bodies. (挚友如异体同心); A life without a friend is a life without the sun. (人生没有朋友，犹如人生没有太阳); A man who has friends must show himself friendly.(要有朋友，必须以友谊待人)So it is very important for us to make friends in our daily life. OK, next we will study the new words:
1.loyal adj. 忠诚的,忠心的,诚实的;正直的
be loyal to… 忠于……, 忠诚于……, to为介词,后跟名词或代词.
e.g. We should be loyal to our country.
2.handsome adj. 英俊的;大方的;美观的
handsome多用于描写男人 “英俊”, “标致”;
e.g. He was a handsome boy with large, bright eyes and fair hair.
Beautiful用于形容女子美丽、好看、动人。
Pretty 用于形容女子小巧玲珑。
Lovely用于形容孩子可爱的。
3.argue
1) vi. 争论，辩论
argue with sb. argue with sb. over /about sth. 与某人争论谋事
e.g. I argued with him about it.
argue for / against 赞成/反对
e.g. The whole world argued against the war. 整个世界都反对这场战争。
e.g. I don’t want to argue _____ it ____ him any more

argue sb into /out of doing sth.
persuade sb. into /out of doing sth.
reason sb. into /out of doing sth. 说服某人做/不做谋事
talk sb.into /out of doing sth.

His friends argued him out of smoking.
His friends argued him into giving up smoking . 他的朋友说服他戒烟了。

Now, I think that you have known me a little. In my spare time, I have a lot of hobbies. I like collecting erasers and stamps. I dislike doing sports, because I think that it is too tiring. But this is a bad habit. Because sports can make us healthy and strong. It is good for our bodies. And I enjoy listening to music, because it can make me relaxed.
