The limitations of Book Knowledge
People may think that the most important task of a college student is to study natural or social sciences which are taught in books, because books are the main sources of human knowledge, and summaries of what people have acquired in their struggle with nature and society.Moreover, with the rapid development of modern society, book knowledge is renewed from time to time.Thus, students are often expected to acquire as much knowledge as possible from books.
However, books can never cover all the things and happenings in the world. If one has not learned anything beyond the books, it is difficult for him to cope with some practical problems arising in his future work.
Since we are aware of the limitations of book knowledge, we should not confine our learning to books. In order to work competently, we should also acquire our knowledge and develop our ability through practice and keen observation of the world.
