It was a slogan directed at rail passengers rather than drivers. But the man in charge of this high-speed service seems rather too willing to "let the train take the strain".
He appears absorbed in a news-paper spread across the dashboard. When the London-bound loco thunders out of a tunnel, it has reached 60mph.
The high-speed train was snapped by Jim Hales, 64, who said that he was "stunned" by what he had apparently seen.
"It looks so dangerous," Mr. Hales said, "He was apparentlyresponsible for driving a train full of people."
Now the driver, who was responsible for hundreds of passengers on the journey, has been suspended while First Great Western conducts an investigation.
A First Great Western Spokesman said，this photograph is franklyastonishing and appears to show behavior that falls way short of the professional standards we expect from our train drivers.
"Train drivers have to constantlyadjust their speeds and check signals and junctions," he added.
